Electrical resistance and self-sensing properties of pressure-sensitive materials with graphite filler in Kuralon fiber concrete

Abstract This study aimed to investigate conductivity behavior of concrete containing graphite and its sensitivity the effects pressure. Graphite powder was added replace partial cement (4 wt.%, 8 12 16 wt.%) as conductive fillers with a water-to-cementitious ratio 0.45. Specimens 0.5 vol.% Kuralon fibers were treated enhance performance self-sensing properties influence fiber contents on electrical resistivities. The relationship between axial load changes in resistivity determined using cyclic loading tests, indicating existence development internal cracking concrete. results indicated that compressive strength presented linear decline proportional addition graphite. 8% reached lower bound properties, an increase amount graphite, gradually decreased. In specimens >8% able better reflect resistivity. had further improvement resistance properties. inclusion, mixture provided best warn for preventing cracking, well achieved mechanical
